What's the difference between Flame Rite and the heating oil I've always used?
Modern Technology has made major advances in fuel chemistry in the past few years. Gasoline, diesel fuel, even engine oil, bear little resemblance to those of just a decade ago. Heating oil too has benefited greatly from this recent research. We now know for example, that untreated heating oil actually contributes to the eventual failure of certain parts of the heating system. Nozzle clogging, pump wear, tank corrosion, filter failure, and burner deterioration are just some of the problems that can be reduced or eliminated by an additive-improved premium heating oil.
How can Flame Rite help me avoid mechanical problems?

1. Today's high-tech burner nozzle is very efficient - when it is new and clean. Fuel which has deteriorated and formed solid particles of grit (which can happen in as little as one month unless treated with a stabilizer additive) will eventually ruin that nozzle in the same way that the Colorado river uses gritty water to cut its path through the Grand Canyon. The result is wasted fuel, more smoke, a service call, and costly replacement. Flame Rite prevents the formation of that gritty sludge (and slowly attacks the existing sludge that has accumulated in the bottom of your storage tank) adding years of life and fuel efficiency to your burner nozzle.

2. That same sludge contains a high percentage of acids which cause rust and corrosion throughout the fuel system and contribute to filter clogging and nozzle failure. Flame Rite liquifies most of the sludge and suspends it in the fuel, which carries it out of the system so it can do no more damage.

3. Water (mostly from years of condensation) is always present in your storage tank. It too adds to the rust and scale problem that so often clogs filters and eventually ruins the tank. The presence of water also allows algae growth which causes additional sludge and acid formation. Flame Rite kills the algae and then seeks out the water and emulsifys it into the fuel which then passes it harmlessly out of the system.

4. By cleaning your heating system to "like new" condition, you will use less fuel - as it will burn more completely and produce more heat. Less soot, smoke and unburned hydrocarbons are produced, so you're making a real contribution to the environmental air quality too!

How can Flame Rite help me save money?
First, the mechanical components of your heating system will last much longer. By keeping the fuel "fresh", by reducing corrosion, reducing pump and nozzle wear, and eliminating water, you'll save money through less frequent service calls and component replacement. Second, by keeping the nozzle/burner system in optimum condition, the system can operate at peak efficiency - meaning less fuel burned, more heat-per-gallon, less soot buildup, and less unburned fuel up the chimney - resulting in real money saving for you.
